OPSU Softball Takes Loss in Vegas (N.M.)

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Las Vegas, N.M.—Aggie softball took a two-game loss Wednesday to the Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands University.

The Aggies were defeated 8-2 in game one with Anyssa Barbosa and Rachel Thompson each scoring one earned run. Both runs were scored in the third inning after the Cowgirls had brought in three runs in the second. NMH went on to score one run in the fourth and four runs in the fifth.

Sophomore pitcher Sam Arledge pitched all six innings for the Aggies allowing four earned runs and throwing nine strikeouts. Thompson and Laura Trehal each had one RBI and catcher Madison Heathington led in fielding with nine putouts.

Lilli Ward grabbed the first run of game two for the Aggies in the first inning and both teams would remain scoreless through the fifth when NMH scored their only two runs. Thompson pitched a full game for OPSU and also brought in one RBI. Arledge moved to first base in the second game and totaled seven putouts.

The team drops to 2-10 overall and will play on the road again Saturday as they travel to Sterling, Kan. The double-header against Sterling College will begin at 2 p.m. with live audio coverage available.
