Box Score 3 Goodwell, Okla.—Another windy weekend in the Panhandle made a tough series for the Aggie softball team as they suffered three conference losses to the Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles.
Friday's double-header saw winds in the 30 mph-range as both teams battled the elements, but it was the Lady Eagles who ended the day with two wins under their belts.
OC dominated game one winning 13-3 in seven innings.
Taylor Richardson took the loss for the Aggies, pitching 1.1 innings.
Rachel Thompson came in to relieve Richardson in the second with one out and runners on second and third base. Thompson finished with seven hits, six runs (two earned), and three strikeouts.
Anyssa Barbosa,
Madison Heathington and
Lilli Ward each crossed home plate for the Aggies in game one. Barbosa also notched an RBI off a double in the second inning. Sam Arledge brought in one RBI as well with a single in the third.
Arledge led off in the circle for game two pitching a full eight innings and allowing seven hits and only two earned runs; she threw five strikeouts in the Aggies' one-run loss to the Lady Eagles (4-3).
The Aggies got off to a good start in game two as Heathington knocked a homer in the second for one RBI. OC then scored two runs in the third inning to take a one-run lead (2-1).
Rachel Thompson drove a double to left field for an RBI bringing Barbosa in to tie things up at 2-2 after five innings of play.
Innings six and seven went scoreless which prompted an eighth inning. The Lady Eagles scored two runs leaving the Aggies down by two runs. Kenzie Spurgin hit an infield single to bring in Arledge, but that was all the Aggies could manage as OC had won the day.
Saturday's game three saw calmer winds and another missed opportunity for the Aggies as they owned a 3-1 lead after five innings, but gave up five runs in the last two innings of play and took a 6-3 loss to end the series.
The Aggies now hold a 6-23 overall record with one conference win.
Arledge threw a complete game taking the loss with twelve hits and five earned runs; she notched two strikeouts for the game.

Ashly Duin had a good day at the plate going 2-3 with one double and one RBI.
Salina Galindo went 2-4 with one RBI and
Anyssa Barbosa brought in one RBI off a base on balls.
Leading on the field for the series was
Madison Heathington who totaled 16 putouts (12 from first base and four as catcher);
Anyssa Barbosa grabbed 12 putouts (seven from left field and five at rf/1b);
Rachel Thompson put away ten runners (seven at catcher and three from 1b/p); and
Lilli Ward took out eight from centerfield.
The Aggies are back on their home field Tuesday for a make-up game against Eastern New Mexico. The double-header is scheduled for 1 p.m.
