GOODWELL, OK. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie women's basketball team wrapped up their season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Mid-America Christian University 83-35 at Anchor D Arena.
The Evangels ranked among the top teams in the Sooner Athletic Conference, came out strong, outscoring the Aggies 22-12 in the first quarter and never looking back. MACU's stifling defense held OPSU to just five points in the second quarter, commanding a 42-17 lead into halftime. The Aggies struggled offensively in the second half, managing 18 total points in the final two quarters.
Lyric Carpenter was leading the Aggies in scoring, who tallied eight points while adding six rebounds. Neo Trim and Jana Radovanovic each contributed six points, with Trim also pulling down four boards. Tessa Kile knocked down two three-pointers to finish with six points, and Molly Jones added three points for OPSU.
Despite the tough loss, the Aggies showed resilience and determination throughout the contest. Their defense forced several turnovers, and they continued to battle on the boards, collecting 22 rebounds as a team. However, MACU's efficiency and depth proved too much.
The Aggies conclude their season with a 1-26 overall record and a 1-23 mark in conference play. Though the season was challenging, the young team gained valuable experience that will help them grow and build for the future.
With the season behind them, the Aggies will look to regroup and prepare for the next chapter. They aim to build a stronger, more competitive squad for the 2025-26 campaign.
