Brunsen helped the Aggie Cowgirls take home the team title from NWOSU with a second place in the long round of breakaway roping with a solid time of 2.5 seconds. She then proceeded to tie for first and second place in the short round with a time of 2.8 seconds giving her the 2017 Breakaway Champion title.
