GOODWELL, Okla-The Aggies softball team split Saturday afternoon as they faced Tabor College, but the Aggies dropped the first game 4-8 and took the second game 12-4.
Game One
Senior
Sarah Conley started in the circle, ranked 24th in the nation with 39 strikeouts, and pitched four innings, giving up six hits and six runs.
Junior
Kaycee Torres came out of the bullpen to relieve Conley; Torres pitched two innings giving up five hits and two runs while striking out three.
Aggies managed to get four runs, all in the top of the third inning. Junior
Bryerly Avina would have the bases loaded and clear them with a triple, her fourth of the season. Aggies bats would be sliced after that, going for 0-12.
Game Two
In the Second game, Junior
Kenley Yocom started for the Aggies, pitched a complete game allowing five hits and four runs, and struck out six but notched the 100th strikeout of her career.
The Aggies came to life in the first inning, scoring seven runs.
Sarah Conley took one for the team as she got hit by a pitch to get the first runner across. Junior
Kaitlyn Fanning and Junior
Kaycee Torres would single in a run in the inning.
The Aggies scored three runs in the seventh inning. Senior
Brielee Daniell singled to score the first run, and
Bryerly Avina cleared the bases again with a home run, her second of the year.
Aggies will play another doubleheader on Sunday, February 26th, as they close the series with Tabor College, with the first pitch at 1:00 PM.
