GOODWELL, Okla-The Lady Aggies traveled to Chickasha, OK, for a Sooner Athletic Sooner show to face the nationally ranked University of Science and Arts Friday night. Aggies would split the first day, falling 3-9 and taking game two 3-2.
Game One:Â The Aggies struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively, giving up nine runs. Junior Meagan Bellar singled to right field to score Bryerly Avina to go up 1-0 in the first inning. In the fifth inning, Avina homered, scoring two runs. The Drovers scored five runs in the two innings to slip past the Aggies.Â
Junior Kenley Yocom led things off from the circle. The righty allowed hits three runs and allowed one walk. Toni Shawnee, Rylin Baker, and Koral Sylestine each contribute to relief.
Game Two- in the second game, it came to be a showdown. Senior Sarah Conley tossed a gem of a game, pitching seven innings allowing four hits and two runs, and sitting out six. Meagan Bellar singled up the middle to score in a run to go up 1-0. In the sixth inning, Conley helped herself with bases loaded single to score two runs to go up 3-0. The Drovers scored one run in the last two innings, but it was not enough for a comeback.
The Lady Aggies will wrap up the series tomorrow against the Drover's first pitch at noon.
