LANGSTON, Okla. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State women's basketball team (3-9, 0-7 SAC) fell 84-49 in a physical battle on the road Saturday at No. 11 Langston (10-2, 6-2).
Despite going up a relentless defense in the Lions, who force opponents into over 24 turnovers per game to lead the Sooner Athletic Conference by a wide margin, OPSU put up a strong fight.
The Aggies made 22-of-35 free throws during the contest, their most makes from the line in a game since the 2019 season opener. They also featured a balanced offensive effort with 10 players making their way into the scoring column, and the visitors won the fourth quarter, 15-14.
Mar'kia Pratt led Panhandle State with 14 points, good for the freshman's highest output yet in a conference game.
Tryssa Dowd and
Emily Bray competed down low, each notching six points and five rebounds.
Off the bench,
Brooklyn Aska made five foul shots to lead the Aggies' reserves. Meanwhile,
Lexine Johnson,
Morgan Earle and
La'Tommas Johnson-Nash combined to make a trio of three-pointers without a miss.
