GOODWELL, OK. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University's softball team capped off a dominant weekend by sweeping the final two games of a four-game series against Central Christian College, securing a clean sweep at home. The Aggies delivered an explosive offensive performance in game one and followed it up with a commanding shutout in game two. The weekend was even more memorable as two standout players etched their names into the OPSU record books.
In Saturday's doubleheader, junior pitcher Marin Jacobs made history by becoming the program's single-season wins leader, earning her 17th and 18th victories. Jacobs surpassed the previous record of 16 set in prior seasons and continues to be a cornerstone of the Aggie defense.
Meanwhile, Trinity Higgins broke the OPSU career stolen bases record, finishing the weekend with 53 career swipes. Higgins added five stolen bases across the two games, showcasing her trademark speed and aggression on the basepaths.
Game One: OPSU 14, CCC 13
In a wild, back-and-forth slugfest, the Aggies outlasted Central Christian 14-13 in a thrilling seven-inning battle. The OPSU offense pounded 18 hits, including multi-hit games from six players.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, OPSU answered with a four-run second, highlighted by Audi Pettaway's two-run home run. The Aggies erupted again in the third, scoring six more runs on clutch hits from Gracie Lankford, Higgins, Kaylynn Du Preez, Summer Marron, and Melissa Carroll to take an 11-4 lead.
Central Christian clawed their way back with a five-run sixth and tied the game at 12 in the seventh. But the Aggies refused to be denied. In the bottom of the seventh, Pettaway and Halle Zupan delivered back-to-back RBI hits to walk it off for a 14-13 win. Jacobs earned the win in relief, marking her 17th win of the season.

Game Two: OPSU 8, CCC 0 (5 Innings)
The Aggies made quick work of Central Christian in game two, blanking the Tigers 8-0 in a five-inning run-rule victory. Jacobs commanded the circle again, scattering four hits over five scoreless innings to pick up her record-breaking 18th win.
Offensively, the Aggies continued their momentum. Higgins led off with a walk and scored on a Carroll single in the first inning. In the third, Marron's sacrifice fly, a triple from Haeley Vasquez, and an RBI double from Jacobs extended the lead to 4-0.
OPSU added three more runs in the fourth, including a home run from Du Preez and an RBI double from Carroll. Zupan added an RBI single in the fifth to seal the win.
