Jacobs Throws Pitch All-SAC Awards

OKLAHOMA CITY — Pitcher Marin Jacobs hauled in Second Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference and SAC Golden Glove honors as part of five total awards earned by Oklahoma Panhandle State softball from the conference's 2026 yearly honors, announced Wednesday.
 
Shortstop Cassidy Stanhope, utility player Haeley Vasquez and infielder Summer Marron rounded out the Aggies' awards by being named Honorable Mention All-SAC.
 
Jacobs made it back-to-back appearances as a second team all-conference pitcher after tossing 145.2 innings across 23 starts, posting a 3.41 ERA, 20 complete games and three shutouts. The junior won eight games in the circle, and she made pitching appearances during nine of OPSU's 10 victories throughout the year.
 
The Bloomington, Indiana, native also produced at the plate in 65 at-bats by hitting .308 with seven runs batted in. She was a standout fielder at her position en route to winning a second Golden Glove, going without an error in 70 total chances, including recording 54 assists.


 
Vasquez (.312 BA), Stanhope (.309) and Marron (.284) finished the season as the Aggies' top three leaders in batting average among qualified hitters.
 
Vasquez, a junior from Guymon, Oklahoma, totaled 44 hits, 10 doubles and three homers en route to posting 21 RBIs and a team-best .447 slugging percentage. She also was efficient with her base-stealing efforts, ending the year a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts.
 
Stanhope delivered a strong season as a freshman from Pampa, Texas, getting on base at a .358 clip, scoring 19 runs and driving in 10 on the strength of eight doubles. Defensively, Stanhope came through with a team-high 121 assists and was part of 18 double plays.
 
Marron followed up a 2025 Second Team All-SAC year with an Honorable Mention campaign, aided by her leading the team with 25 runs batted in. The infielder was the Aggies' most reliable player, appearing in all 50 contests while making a team-most 48 starts.
 
Aggie softball has sustained prominence in the conference's yearly awards under head coach Jim Walker, totaling 11 different honors in his two seasons at the helm.
