OPSU Cheer to hold free "Mascot Training Camp" on August 31

GOODWELL, Okla. The Oklahoma Panhandle State University competitive cheerleading squad will be hosting a Mascot Training Camp featuring world-famous "mascot guru" Jerome Bartlett - specifically designed for anyone involved with utilization of mascot characters: performers, advisors, business owners, marketing personnel, athletics administrator and cheerleaders will improve audience interaction and participation skills. The camp takes place Saturday, August 31 at the OPSU Noble Center and runs from 9 a.m. 5 p.m.
Bartlett is a long and diverse background in mascot performance and development. He has worked with the San Antonio Spurs, Texas State University, the San Antonio Express News, San Antonio Rampage, the San Antonio Talons the Silver Stars, San Antonio Missions and the Round Rock Express. Additionally, he worked with the NCAA in the development of its basketball championships mascot, J.J. Jumper.
Jerome (pronounced Jeremy) used his love of performing and desire to help others enhance their mascot program by founding Higher Impact Entertainment. Jerome and the efforts of Higher Impact Entertainment's team of performers have garnered numerous appearances on local media stations nationwide as well as National Television shows such as HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, National Geographic Channel's The Big Picture with Kal Penn, NBC's First Look, TruTV's Top 20 Funniest, and many others.
