Aggies Erase Double-Digit Deficit, Roll Past JBU Behind Campbells 35

GOODWELL, Okla. Christian Campbell scored a career-high 35 points, Ja'Vian Baker fueled a second-half resurgence with five dimes, and the Oklahoma Panhandle State men's basketball team (4-17, 2-14 SAC) overcame an 11-point deficit to steamroll past John Brown University (9-13, 6-10) on Thursday night, 79-62.
The win simultaneously snapped a seven-game slide overall and a 12-game skid to the Golden Eagles, as OPSU dominated the closing stages of a second half that it ultimately won, 47-23.
Pivotal Stretch: With the game tied at 54 with 8:33 to play following an and-one from JBU's Maliq Sosa, Panhandle State played nearly flawlessly down the stretch to win by 17 points, the largest margin of victory this season.
The 25-8 closing run started with a triple from Campbell, and it continued with back-to back three-pointers from Aaron Williams Jr. and Braedyn Ellison, both of which were assisted by Baker.
Baker then scored himself on a drive in the paint to make it 65-56, OPSU, before Williams Jr. kickstarted a remarkable offensive stretch of four Aggie treys in the next five possessions. Campbell hit on a pair of them, while Kensington-Grant Brown's three-pointer with 1:50 to go gave the Aggies their first double-digit lead of the night.
