Mens Cross Country place 2nd in NMHU XC JAM

GOODWELL, Okla.- The Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggie Cross Country team competed in Country Jam hosted by New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM.
While the Aggies men came in second place out of three teams, the Aggies women failed to qualify.
On the Women's team, Clarice Clain would finish with a time of 23:12 minutes, finishing in 9th place in the women's 5-kilometer race.
After was Azucena Carrillo finished in 24:38, placing her in 12th; Patrica Gray, who finished in 24:38, putting her in 13th place; Bonita Gray, who finished at 31:28, placing her in 16th.
The first to finishfor the Aggiesin the men's 8-kilometer race was Justin Duran, who finished 6th with a time of 26:20.
Gus Fields, who finished at 28:34, placing him in 14th; Arto Vallejo, who finished in 28:48, placing him in 15th; Jair Cruz, who finished in 30:08, putting him in 17th; Landry Coble, who finished in 31:41, placing him in 19th; Carlos Flores finished 31:52 putting him in 20th.
After the meet coach Murrell said"This race proved to have more challenges than we anticipated, from difficult terrain to high temperatures. Despite that, I watched our teams push themselves mentally and physically all the way to the finish. It is definitely a race we will not forget".
The next Aggies contest is scheduled to occur at Lubbock Christain University on October 7th.
