Aggies Men's Cross Country Team Competes in Tiger Open, Hays, KS
September 8, 2023
GOODWELL,Okla-Aggies Men's Cross Country Team recently participated in the Tiger Open hosted by Fort Hays State in Hays, KS. The team faced strong competition and displayed their dedication and commitment to the sport.
Despite the tough competition, the Aggies finished in 6th place out of 6 competing institutions, demonstrating their resilience and determination on the course. Here are the individual results for our athletes:
After the meet coach Cyrus Hall shared" Not taking into account team scores, I'm very encouraged by the results. The course was very hilly, so it was a nice change of pace for us flatlanders to get some work on the hills. Every guy was faster through 3 miles than we raced last week, and to do it on a hilly course tells me we are making progress.
We are pretty young and we are still trying to figure out how to do things the right way and be successful. We are also working through some mental challenges as well. So we've still got some work to do, but I think the fellas are starting to figure some things out.
Trevor, JD, and Carlos ran really well today. Ethan bounced back from a poor race last week. We are pretty solid in our top 2-3 guys. We will be as good as our 4-7 guys go."
Next up, the Aggies will be heading to Las Vegas, NM, to compete in the NM Highlands XC Jam on Thursday, September 28th. We wish our team the best of luck in their upcoming event and look forward to their continued success this season.
