OPSU AGGIES MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM SECURES SECOND PLACE AT NMHU XC JAM

GOODWELL,Okla- The OPSU Aggies men's cross country team put on an impressive performance at the New Mexico Highlands University XC Jam hosted by New Mexico Highland University, securing a commendable second-place finish among three participating institutions.

Here's a breakdown of the notable individual performances:

  1. Justin Duran - Placed 8th with an outstanding time of 24:59, marking an impressive improvement of 1:20 faster than last year.

  2. Trevor Youngblood - Finished in 11th position, clocking in at 26:24.

  3. Ethan White - Secured the 14th position with a time of 26:54.

  4. Landry Coble - Finished in 22nd place, delivering an exceptional performance by beating his previous year's time by nearly 3 minutes, recording a time of 28:56.

  5. Carlos Flores - Secured the 24th position, impressively shaving off 1 minute and 20 seconds from his previous year's time.

After the meet Coach Cyrus Hall shared"We are coming off a really tough training cycle and I'm know the guys are feeling pretty beat up. So racing at 6400' altitude was a tough challenge that I thought they really handled well. I couldn't be more proud of where these guys are right now and the work they've been putting in.When we start to pull the reins back in a couple weeks and their legs freshen up, we should see some really good things happen!"

The team is now gearing up for their next challenge as they head to Hobbs, NM, on Friday, October 13th to compete in the NMJC Invitational hosted by New Mexico Junior College.
