2012 (Freshman) and 2013 (Sophomore): Ran at Garden City C.C. … As a sophomore, was both Kansas Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA All-Academic selection.
 
High School:  A graduate of Perryton High School (2012) in Texas … a two-time winner of team’s Fighting Heart Award (junior and senior) … academic all-district and TTFCA academic all-state as a junior … team placed second in region and ninth in state as a junior … also academic all-state in track as a senior.  
 
Personal:  Daughter of Javier and Martha Castro … has one sister (Brenda) … is married … enjoys DIY projects with her husband and traveling … is a Peer Achievement Coach for the OPSU Academic Resource Center and an Aggie Leader…a biology major and chemistry minor … chose OPSU because it was “close to home, and it offered a great curriculum for the major I chose.”
