Ki'Anna Jones notched a PR and came within 0.5 seconds of the school record in the 600-meters by finishing in 1:42.66.
Jones joined Valenzuela, Chavez and Gerow as Aggies who also competed in the 800-meters, where Valenzuela broke her own record with a time 2:33.28 to grab seventh of 14 runners. Jones took eighth at 2:34.13, and Chavez nabbed a spot in the top 10.
Head coach Cyrus Hall highlighted Jones' performances, noting that he has set a high standard for the runner and that Jones came through with "a really good day."
Paizlie Reyna-Mata set a personal record in the 800-meters with a mark of 26.58 seconds to take fifth of eight runners. Behind Reyna-Mata were Breyanna Kemp and Perez, bunching up under 27.00 seconds to take sixth and seventh, respectively.
Neo Trim participated in the triple jump for the first time, notching a top mark of 9.38 meters.
Coach Hall's Thoughts: "I'm pretty happy with how today went. The women are bummed out, we didn't have anybody qualify for Nationals this year, indoors. Some of that's the training, I changed the training this year. I'm trying to do some different things with them to hopefully get a bigger pop outdoors."
"We ran pretty well today, I think we're getting really close to being where we want to be, so I wouldn't be surprised if first outdoor meet, second outdoor meet, we start to look really good. And we looked good today."
What's up next: The Aggies are scheduled to begin their outdoor campaign on March 12 in Coffeyville, Kansas.
