Aggie XCs Glover Takes 13th at FHSU Meet

Victoria, Kan.The cold conditions did not hamper Panhandle State women's runner Shayna Glover, who turned in a team-best time in the 5K race of 20:15.3 to place 13th among the field of 113 participants. The women's cross country team competed Saturday at the Tiger Open hosted by Fort Hays State at the Sand Plum Trail in Victoria, Kan.
The Aggie women combined for a 10th place finish as a team, timing and average of 22:51.24. Gabrielle Ramos marked the team's second fastest time at 21:08.4 to place 42nd, and Vanessa Gonzalez was close behind clocking 21:42.5 to finish 62nd individually. Sarai Ortega (24:17.8) and Kiery Fernandez (26:52.2) crossed the finish line 101 and 110 respectively.
Hutchinson Community College took first as a team with a total time of 1:41.08. Trinidad State Junior College's Benadine Chelimo claimed the individual title with a 5K time of 19:05.7.
Panhandle State women's cross country completed their regular season schedule at Fort Hays this week and will start preparing for the Sooner Athletic Conference meet on Nov. 3.
