Courtney enters 2026 in her first season leading the Aggies' volleyball program, following the announcement of her hiring on Dec. 15, 2025.
Prior to joining the OPSU community, Courtney was the head volleyball coach at Minot State University for two-plus seasons from 2023 through 2025, working her way from interim head coach to gaining the full title in the middle of that span. Minot State, located in Minot, North Dakota, competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
A Montana native, Courtney was a multi-sport athlete at Wolf Point High School, where she was both a three-time first-team all-conference honoree and a three-time All-State performer in volleyball.
She went on to play collegiate volleyball at Montana Tech University for two seasons before wrapping up her undergraduate days at Johnson & Wales University-Denver, where she played basketball and volleyball.
Courtney's previous coaching experience includes four years as an assistant varsity volleyball coach for Sentinel High School in Missoula, Montana, helping lead the team to a 58-26 record and four state tournament appearances, including winning a Divisional Championship. Courtney also served as an assistant girls’ basketball coach, helping Sentinel to a pair of state tournament berths.
She then joined the volleyball coaching staff at Minot State in April 2022. During her second season with the Beavers, she was vaulted into an interim head coaching role for the final 11 matches of 2023. Courtney retained that role for the 2024 season before having the interim tag removed on Oct. 31, 2024, and she remained Minot State’s head volleyball coach through 2025.
Courtney graduated with honors with her BS in nutrition with a concentration in women's health from Johnson & Wales, and she earned her MS in sports management from Minot State University.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time outdoors and hanging out with her two beloved dogs.
