Mike Rosso

Mike Rosso was named as the first-ever head women's soccer coach in Oklahoma Panhandle State University in March of 2019, charged with assembling the school's inaugural schedule and roster for intercollegiate competition for the fall of 2019.

In that first campaign opf 2019, the Aggies started out with two-consecutive wins. Among them was the first in soccer history at Panhandle State (1-0 over Texas College) at Anchor D Stadium. However, injuries and other circumstances took a toll on OPSU's roster, finishing 3-11 overall. 

Prior to OPSU, Coach Rosso was the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Northeast Texas Community College. In his first season he led the women’s team to a winning regular season record and a semifinal berth in the Region XIV conference tournament. He also had two players receive Region XIV 1st Team All-Conference honors.

Prior to arriving at NTCC he was the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Francis Marion University. He also served on the South Carolina ODP Staff as the Boys Team Head Coach. He led the team at the 2017 Southern Regional Event and eventually had 5 players selected to the Region III Pool. He was also the Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach at Trinity Byrnes Collegiate School taking over in 2017 and leading the team to the State Quarterfinals the past two seasons.

He began his collegiate coach career as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Eckerd College from 2011-2014. While at Eckerd he helped lead the team to the Sunshine State Conference Tournament two out of his three years with the program. In each of his three seasons with the Tritons the team was able to maintain a GPA above a 3.20. While at Eckerd he also served as a head competitive coach for Tampa Bay United (2008-2016) and also worked as a volunteer assistant with the Tampa Bay Hellenic of the Women's Professional Soccer League from 2008 to 2015.

Prior to arriving at Tampa Bay United, Rosso was a competitive youth coach for Countryside Lightning. In his time there he helped guide the Countryside Youth Soccer Association U17 girls' squad to a runner-up finish at the 2007 USYSA Southern Regionals; served as an assistant coach at the IMG Soccer Academy for the U18 girls' program during which time it was ranked No.1 nationally and captured the Region III Premier League title; and assisted with the Countryside High School boys' program during which time the team was ranked No.1 nationally for eight weeks.

A native of East Lake, Fla., he played three years at Saint Leo University, where he earned a B.A degree in sports management in 2004. He also received a M.A. degree in physical education from the University of South Florida in 2011.

He holds a NSCAA Advanced National Soccer Diploma, a Regional Goalkeeping Diploma, and a USSF National D License.
