The Aggies currently lead the conference in service aces.
Goodwell, Okla.—OPSU volleyball (3-10) welcomes two Heartland Conference match-ups on their home court this week; the Aggies will take on St. Mary's University on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. and Texas A&M University-International on Friday, Oct. 4 also at 7 p.m.
St. Mary's is currently ranked third in the conference with three wins and one loss and an overall record of 6-7. They are also ranked third in hitting percentage averaging .181per set. The Aggies will need to play aggressively against the Lady Rattlers and utilize their strongest weapons throughout the match. Right now OPSU is still top of the charts in the conference when it comes to service aces with
Sarah Koster and
Skylar Mayeux sitting in the top two spots with 22 and 19 aces earned respectively. Mayeux is also currently ranked 6th in the Heartland for assists, averaging 5.64 per set.
Both the Aggies and the Dustdevils (TAMUI; 1-12) will be looking for their first conference wins this week. The Dustdevils also share a similar weapon with the Aggies; setter Lizzie Prieto is currently ranked 2nd in the conference for assists averaging 8.37 per set. Look for an exciting match-up between these two teams.
