Box Score Goodwell, Okla.—The OPSU men's basketball team looked for their first win of the season Thursday evening against the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, but couldn't hold on to their halftime lead and took a 84-68 loss over the Lions.
It was neck and neck from the tip-off with five score ties in the opening half. The Aggies landed nine three-pointers and hit 6-7 from the free-throw line going in to the locker room with an eight-point lead over the Lions (41-33).
The Aggies held the lead four minutes into the second half when UAFS guard Seth Youngblood made a shot from beyond the arc to bring the Lions up by two. OPSU would keep things close through the five-minute mark, but the Aggie baskets turned cold and the Lions took advantage and came out with a 16-point victory.
UAFS brought in 31 bench points to the Aggies eight and outscored OPSU 15-3 on second chance points.
