Goodwell, Okla.—The OPSU Aggie volleyball team prepares for a long couple weeks of volleyball games as they hit the road for three matches back to back and compete in three different states.
On Thursday, Oct. 9 the Aggies will compete in Dallas for a Heartland Conference match against Dallas Baptist University. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. on DBU's court. DBU has a current record of 4-4 and is tied for fourth in the Heartland Conference standings.
The following day the Aggies will compete in Arkedelphia, Ark. against Henderson State University for a nonconference match beginning at 6:00 p.m. Henderson State University has an 0-6 conference record and an overall record of 2-14.
With no break, the Aggies travel to Fort Smith Arkansas to play the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, the number one team in the Heartland Conference. UAFS was the Aggies first conference match of the season and OPSU is ready to get revenge. The match will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11.
After a few days back home, the Aggies will then travel to Alva, Okla. for a match against Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Tuesday, Oct. 14 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The Aggies are back on their home court Thursday, Oct. 16 for a Heartland Conference match against the University of Texas-Permian Basin. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Oscar Williams Field House.
The UTPB match will be the Aggies Pink-Out Game in support of breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and could win the chance to throw pie at one of the coaches' faces. Tickets for this opportunity are two dollars for one ticket or three for five dollars. Pink bracelets are also being sold by the volleyball team for one dollar apiece. All of the proceeds will go to the Pink Heals organization.
Show your support for the Aggies by going to the volleyball schedule page on the OPSU Aggie Athletics website and keeping up with the games via live stats and video links, and join them for the pink-out match to help raise awareness for breast cancer.
