OPSU Winter Homecoming this Saturday

Goodwell, Okla.—The Oscar Williams Field House will be full of activity Saturday, Feb. 15 as the Aggies take on Newman University and host the 2014 Winter Homecoming. OPSU alumni and Aggie fans are invited to come early, cheer loud, and get involved in the homecoming excitement.

Among the activities planned is the Annual Staff Silent Auction hosted by the OPSU Staff Liaison Committee. Aggie fans can bid on a variety of items including OPSU athletics gear, gift certificates, jewelry and more. Items will be on display in the gym lobby starting at 12:30 p.m. prior to the women's game. Bidding will begin at 1 p.m. and continue through halftime of the men's game; winning bids will be confirmed after men's halftime.

The Aggie women will tip-off at 1 p.m. against Newman University who is currently ranked fourth in the Heartland Conference. A tumbling contest will take place at halftime of the women's game; contestants must be over 18 years of age and provide proof of insurance. The first place winner will receive a $50 cash prize.

Next up the Aggie men will take on the 8-14 Newman Jets; the men are looking for a third conference victory. Tri-County Electric Cooperative is the proud sponsor of Saturday's games. Homecoming coronation will take place at halftime after sponsor recognition. This year's Winter Homecoming nominees include: King nominees Logan Bechtel (FFA), John Hein (Cheer), Jacob Murphy (OIL), Zachary Patton (PBL), and Tyler Stephens (Psychology); and Queen nominees Meagan Bell (PBL), Rachel Durham, (SOEA), Eva Dye (OIL), Cristina Kent (Psychology), and Molly Tarango (Cheer).

In addition to the homecoming festivities, OPSU will also welcome 100-150 high school seniors on campus for Senior Day; the OPSU Bookstore will have a booth set up in the lobby with lots of Aggie gear available for purchase, and Aggie Cross Country will be selling 50/50 tickets during both games.
