Aggie Women Drop Road Loss to Hillcats

Box Score Claremore, Okla.—The Aggie women played Thursday night against conference opponent Rogers State in Claremore Oklahoma. The Hillcats came in the game an 8-16 record (6-13) and sitting 8th in conference.
 
The Hillcats seemed to be in control most of the first half until the Aggies made a comeback to bring the game to within three points; Rogers State went on a big run to advance their lead to 14 points going into the half with a score of 32-18.
 
The leading scorer at the break for the Aggies was Kortney Williams who had seven points going into halftime. The scoring for the Hillcats was pretty evenly distributed, and DaNara Day led with nine points for Rogers State.
 
Nothing seemed to go right for the Aggies starting the second half as the Hillcats lead was brought up to 22 points with a little less than 15 minutes left in the game. The Hillcats were in the lead the entire second half going up by as much as 28 points over the Aggies; the final score from Claremore was 78-54 in favor of the home team.
 
The leading scorer for the Aggies was senior Sarah Johnson who had 12 points; next was Brittany Alavinejad who had 10 points and Hannah Tatum finished with eight points.
 
For the Hillcats it was Katy Harsen and DaNara Day who led the way for Rogers State with 14 points apiece; Mikaila Newton had 13, and Adrianna Leatherbury totalled 10 points. Katy Harsen also had 14 rebounds to give her a double-double on the night.
 
OPSU Coach Charles Terry said, "we just didn't compete tonight and our shooting was bad."
 
The loss drops OPSU to 1-23 (1-17); with the win Rogers State improves to 9-16 (6-13). The Aggie women are on the road Saturday as the take on the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in Fort Smith.
