Box Score Goodwell, Okla.—Another exciting game for OPSU men's basketball took place Saturday afternoon as the Aggies came oh so close to their third conference win; St. Edward's managed a two-point victory in the final seconds of the 94-92 game.
Dawayne Matthews grabbed the first points of the game for the Aggies with a long distance shot good for three. The Aggies led through the 14:34 mark when St. Ed's John Gramlich tied things up at 13-13 with a successful layup. The battle on the court continued with OPSU taking a seven point lead with 2:17 left in the half, but the Hilltoppers were sent to the line and followed with two more baskets good for five points to tie the game at 42-42 with 14 ticks left on the clock.
Tavien Rosemond finished off the half with a big dunk to bring the Aggies up by two at the break.
Ramir Burton led all scorers after twenty minutes totaling 22 points for the Hilltoppers. St. Ed's also led in rebounds in the first half with Harley Nussman landing seven boards. Aggie junior

St. Ed's opened the second half with a layup to tie the game at 44-44 and the teams would even the score four more times by the 16:28 mark when the scoreboard read 52-52. The Hilltoppers started to pull away going up by as much as eight points with a little over four minutes left on the clock. The Aggie men went to work and cut the lead to two points with five seconds left in the game by way of a Z. Jones layup.
Bill Lee went to the line for the Aggies with less than four seconds remaining; Lee made his first and missed the second in the hopes of recovering the Aggie rebound but time ran out and the Hilltoppers went away with the win.
The Aggies outscored St. Ed's in bench points 31-9 and saw five players earn double-digit points.
Jeremy Newton led the Aggies in scoring with 26 points, Z. Jones totaled 15,
Bill Lee finished with 13 points, and
Tavien Rosemond and
T. J. Farrell contributed 12 and 10 points respectively. Ramir Burton scored a game-high 35 points for the Hilltoppers.
OPSU Coach
Jerry Olson had this to say after the game: "Our defense needs to improve. We played very slow and lethargic at times and needed to show a full 40 minutes of effort."
The Aggie men own a 2-20 overall record with two conference wins. Saturday, Feb. 15 will be the next home game versus Newman University and the Aggies will celebrate Spring Homecoming during halftime. The men are set to tip-off at 3 p.m.
