Goodwell, Okla – The OPSU Aggie volleyball team is really digging in as they prepare for a tri-match this weekend against Southwestern Oklahoma State University and St. Edwards University. This tri-match allows the Aggies to compete in one non-conference match and one Heartland Conference match.
The tri-match will begin Friday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. with a match against SWOSU and St. Edwards University. The Aggies will then take the court at 7:30 p.m. to compete against SWOSU in a non-conference match. SWOSU, part of the Great American Conference, currently has a 2-4 record and according to head coach
Mike Stephens, the Aggies have an added determination to win this match and notch a win against a fellow Oklahoma school.
The Aggies will wrap up the tri-match with a Heartland Conference game against St. Edwards University on Saturday, Sept 20 at 11:00 a.m. St. Edwards University is currently ranked third in the Heartland Conference with an overall record of 5-0, but the Aggies hope to herd the Hilltoppers to their first loss of the season.
The team has been working hard in practice to prepare for some exciting volleyball matches. "This group of girls has done a good job at taking what we work on in practicing and applying it in matches," Stephens commented. "As a team we just need to focus on competing for every single point."
