Box Score 2 Goodwell, Okla —The OPSU volleyball team played a hard fought battle this weekend in a tri-match with Southwestern Oklahoma State University and St. Edward's University.
First on the court Friday was the Southwestern Lady Bulldogs versus the St. Edward's Hilltoppers; SEU won three out of four sets 25-23, 25-15, and 25-7; SWOSU won the first set 25-23.
The Aggies then took the court for their match against Southwestern going point for point in the opening set. Down 7-13,
Shaina Eddings earned a kill for the Aggies sending
Dejiana Rubio to serve; Rubio served seven in a row with three aces tying the game at 14-14. The Lady Bulldogs regained momentum and took a 25-16 victory in game one.
Game two started with a perfect pass, perfect set and perfect kill for the Aggies followed by a service ace by
Tayler Burzette. Long rallies were delivered throughout the set with neither team willing to let the ball hit the floor. SWOSU held the lead for the majority of the game notching a 25-12 win in the end.
The Lady Bulldogs finished with a third straight win in game three 25-9. At the end of the night, the Aggies totaled five serving aces, 17 kills and 53 digs.

Julia Ibarra and
Megan Archuleta accounted for 26 digs combined.
The tri-match concluded Saturday morning with a Heartland Conference match between OPSU and St. Edward's. The Aggies started off strong, but the Hilltoppers proved tough competition and the Aggies fell short: 17-25, 9-25, 9-25. The Aggies served were efficient behind the line with only three serving errors and Eddings once again led the team in scoring with seven of the 15 total kills.
With the two losses, the Aggies' overall record falls to 0-10. They will look for their first win on the road this week as they go up against three conference opponents: St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 26; Texas A&M International in Laredo, Texas on Sept. 27; Newman University in Wichita, Kan. on Sept. 30.
