Box Score Oklahoma City, Okla.—The OPSU women's basketball team struggled Thursday evening as they took a disappointing 39-point loss in a Heartland Conference match-up with Oklahoma Christian University.
Statistically the Aggies were an even match with the Eagles in the first half averaging 41 percent from the field to OC's 43 percent with each team bringing down 19 rebounds in the first period; but 18 turnovers by the Aggies gave OC a clear advantage as they scored 22 points on takeaways alone. The half ended with a score of 40-27 in favor of the home team.
Kiera Waters earned the first Aggie points of the second half with a layup at the 18:46 mark, but the Aggies were unable to find the basket for the following six and a half minutes giving the Eagles time to pull into a comfortable 26-point lead. The Aggies were held to a 22 percent shooting percentage in the second half and only managed 38 percent from the line. Oklahoma Christian earned their first conference win of the season with a 86-47 victory.
OC's McKenzie Stanford led in scoring with a game-high of 23 points; Stanford also led in rebounds with seven along with teammate Jordan Gorham who brought down a game-high seven boards as well.
Tatyana Bell was the team leader in scoring and rebounds for the Aggies totaling 14 points and six rebounds. Defensively
Hannah Tatum had four blocks and
Haley Bonilla grabbed four steals for the Aggies.

Charles Terry felt that his team was not at their best stating, "Nothing we tried was working but we just have to stay the course and do what we can to get better. The Aggies hold a 2-11 overall record and will search for their first conference win as they travel to Wichita, Kan. to take on Newman University this Saturday at 1 p.m.
