Box Score 2 Goodwell, Okla.—After a six-game home stretch, the Aggies will take to the road once again this week for a two-game Heartland Conference series in Texas.
The Aggies sustained consecutive conference losses to the number one and two Heartland teams Thursday evening in a dual match with Newman (No. 2) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (No. 1). The Aggies hung tough in both matches but fell short in three sets each with the Jets winning 25-18, 25-9 and 25-16, and the Lady Lions 25-10, 25-20 and 25-18. Coach
Mike Stephens was proud of the effort saying, "We gave the number one team in the Heartland Conference and last year's NCAA D-II National Semi-Finalist (UAFS) all they could handle. We fell in three sets but had opportunities and played with determination and pride."
This week the Aggies will have two more opportunities as they take on third-ranked conference opponent Dallas Baptist on Thursday, Oct. 15 in Dallas and sixth-ranked St. Edward's on Saturday, Oct. 17 in Austin. The Aggies will be back home for a big Pink Out match against Fort Hays State on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m.
