Box Score Dallas, Texas—The Aggies were swept in three sets Thursday evening in a Heartland Conference match against the second-ranked team in the league. Dallas Baptist improved to a 12-4 season record and remained undefeated on their home court.
The Patriots overpowered the Aggies in sets one and two winning 25-15 and 25-11. The Aggies bounced back in the third winning the first seven points of the game with
Kaitlyn Carr back to serve. OPSU held the lead through an 11-all tie brought about by a DBU service ace. From that point on, the Patriots regained composure and took over for the remainder of the set taking a 25-20 victory in the end.
The Aggies totaled 18 kills for the match with five services and four blocks. Carr led the team in scoring totaling eight points on three kills, one block and a game-high four service aces. Senior
Celci Bakos led in hitting with six kills, while
Julia Ibarra and
Abigail Reinick led in assists with seven and six respectively. Ibarra also led the team in digs with eight.
DBU's Jenna Elkins was the game leader in kills with eight and in scoring totaling ten points; two off block assists. Austin Roberts had a game-high of 14 assists and also tied Carr with a game-high four aces.
OPSU falls to a 1-20 record on the season and will remain on the hunt for their first conference win as they take on St. Edward's this Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. Aggie fans can keep up with the game via live stats and video links available on the volleyball schedule page on the OPSU Aggie Athletics website.
The Aggies will return to the Oscar Williams Field House for a PINK OUT event on Wednesday, Oct. 21 when they host Fort Hays State on their home court. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
