Box Score Austin, Texas—In a four-set shoot-out Saturday afternoon the OPSU volleyball team fell 1-3 to Heartland Conference opponent St. Edward's University.
Dominating the first set, the Aggies gained a 5-4 lead early in the game and sustained the advantage throughout the rest of the set winning 25-21. OPSU hit at 30 percent in set one and held the Hilltoppers to .098 hitting percentage.
In set two the Toppers took over with a 25-12 victory to tie the match at 1-1. Both teams worked overtime in the third set, but it was the Toppers who came out on top after the 32-30 battle. A solid start in the fourth was not enough for the Aggies to pull out the win; St. Edward's finished off with a 25-13 win in the final set.

Madigan Gonzales led the Aggies in hitting as they combined for 17 kills; Goeken with nine and Gonzales with eight.. Junior setter
Julia Ibarra contributed 18 assists and 11 digs and libero
Dejiana Rubio totaled 24 digs on the day. Defensively the Aggies were also led by Riley Abert and
Celci Bakos who each offered four block assists.
Mikayla Grill of St. Ed's was the game leader in kills with 18; Grill also landed 15 digs and three block assists. Jaclyn Billie had a game-high with 22 assists and libero Morgan Beckham totaled 26 digs to lead the day.
St. Edward's now moves to a 6-13 season record and sits 4-5 in Heartland Conference play. The Aggies drop to 1-21 with zero conference wins.
