Box Score 2 Claremore, Okla.—The Aggies continued Heartland Conference play on the road this week with two match-ups against Rogers State on Thursday evening. The women's team took a 53-77 loss while the men fell by a score of 66-109.
Down 21-45 at the break, the Aggie women came back fighting in the second half and pulled to within a manageable twelve points of the lead by the 5:21 mark. The Hillcats went on to outscore the Aggies 17-5 in the closing minutes of the game, sealing the deal on their 6th conference win.
Sade Tutson led the Aggies in scoring with 17 points followed closely by
Kiera Waters who totaled 16; Mikaila Newton scored a game-high 21 points for the Hillcats. The Aggies led the game in rebounds totaling 47 over Rogers' 40;
Tatyana Bell brought down 10 boards for OPSU and Larisha Saunders contributed with seven total rebounds. Outscoring the Hillcats in the paint 28-16, the Aggies shot 34 percent from the field with one three-pointer on the game by Chandler.

Charles Terry said, "We really have been playing better. We still just have trouble scoring." The Aggie women hold an overall record of 3-20 with one win in the Heartland Conference.
Up next, the Aggie men held a 27-point deficit going into halftime (26-53). The Hillcats shot well in the first half averaging 68 percent from the field, 55 percent at three-point range and 82 percent from the line. The Aggies improved in the second half landing six long distance shots and upping their shooting percentage from the first half by ten percent. RSU maintained a healthy lead throughout the second half and took the forty-point victory to claim a 16-7 overall record, number one in the Heartland ranks.
John Lazenby led all scorers putting up 24 points for the Aggies;
Antonio Manns, Jr. was the next highest scorer with 21 points. Manns also grabbed three steals from the Hillcats. For Rogers State J.C. Hartzler was the leader in points with 19 and the only double-double of the game went to RSU's Frederico Santos with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Aggie men now own a 3-20 record overall and hold one conference win. Coach
Jerry Olson felt that Rogers State played really well and said this after the game, "They shot the ball extremely well. We must get better defensively to be in ball games."
On their way to Fort Smith for Saturday's games, both Aggie teams will face top-ranked UAFS opponents. The Fort Smith women's team sits second in the Heartland Conference with an overall record of 13-8 and 11-3 in conference play; the men's team is currently in a five-way tie for first place with a 10-5 conference record and 14-9 overall.
The Aggies return to their home court Thursday, Feb. 19 for another PINK OUT in support of Jennifer Lazenby and her fight against breast cancer. The Aggies will take on the University of Texas-Permian Basin with games beginning at 5:30 p.m.
