Box Score Alva, Okla.—The Aggies met the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State for their fourth match-up this season in a single game Wednesday afternoon in Alva.
OPSU Baseball opened the 2015 season with a three-game series against the Rangers in Goodwell, and suffered three losses on their home field; a double-header was scheduled in Alva in early March, but inclement weather halted the series. The Aggies came close in Wednesday's match-up but were, once again, disappointed by the Rangers taking a 2-3 loss.

Bo Ybarra got things going for the Aggies with a single to centerfield in the first inning to score
Lucas Ogaz from second base. NWOSU also brought through one run in the first to even the score 1-1. Solid pitching from both sides kept the next four innings scoreless.
Patrick Gonzales started on the mound for OPSU and, with the help of a strong Aggie defense, held the Rangers to four hits for one run through the first five innings of play.
Chris McClendon had the second RBI for the Aggies after being walked to base with two outs and bases loaded in the top of the sixth; Ybarra crossed home on the play to pull the Aggies up by one run 2-1. Gonzales tossed a fly-out to open the bottom of the sixth and was replaced by
Logan Litton after a single put one Ranger runner on base; that runner would score after stealing second and advancing home on an error by third base.
Litton was taken for one more run in the sixth to put the Rangers ahead 3-2, which remained the final score. Gonzales was given the loss for OPSU and Jake Bersche earned the win for NWOSU; Chase Randall got his seventh save of the season. The Aggies now own a 3-40 overall record and two wins in the Heartland Conference.
OPSU Baseball will resume conference play this weekend with a three-game series against the University of Texas-Permian Basin April 24-25. Friday's double-header is set for a 1 p.m. start and the series finale will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
