Aggies Look to Keep the Momentum Rolling on the Road

Goodwell, Okla.—The OPSU Football team travels to Muskogee, Okla. this week to take on another inter-state rival with Bacone College.

Coach Gaskamp and the Aggies aim to even their season record to 2-2 with a victory on the road. A win against Bacone would also put Gaskamp's Aggies even in the books against the Warriors; since his arrival in 2012 Bacone has won two of the three match-ups between the two teams.

Speaking on the importance of this game Gaskamp stated, "One of our goals for this season is to win at least three road games, and this week we have an opportunity to get our first win away from home. Bacone is 0-3 so far, but they have faced three very tough opponents on the road and will be excited about playing their first home game. We're continuing to improve our football team each week and look to carry the momentum from our Langston win with us to Muskogee."

One storyline going into the game will be the emergence of two quarterbacks vying for the starting position on the Aggie offense. Freshman Brandon Ramon and junior Shane Truelove each took significant snaps in the Langston win, and the OPSU coaching staff looks to solidify the starting spot going into the bye week.

"Regardless of who the QB is we will have the opportunity to turn around and hand it off to two outstanding backs, Chris McClendon and Rod Moore," commented Gaskamp. McClendon and Moore combined for 238 rushing yards and three touchdowns last week against Langston.

Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 2 p.m. Live stats will be offered through the football schedule page on the OPSU Aggie Athletics website. Good luck and safe travels to all our Aggies and fans traveling to support them!
