Box Score Kingsville, Texas—In their first of a three-game road series the OPSU Volleyball team fell in three sets to the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Lone Star Conference opponent topped the Aggies 25-7, 25-11 and 25-19 Wednesday evening.
The Aggies started three different liberos in the match with freshman
Alison Holcomb opening in the first set. Senior
Megan Archuleta took over in the second set and junior
Nicole Fournier finished out in the third.
Madigan Gonzales led the team in points with ten scored on ten kills off 17 total attacks.
Julia Ibarra and
Celci Bakos combined for 17 assists. Riley Abert earned one solo block for the game and teamed up with Bakos for a block assist. Freshman
Summer Middleton served up two aces for the Aggies in the third set.
OPSU volleyball drops to a 1-10 overall record and will pick up Heartland Conference play with two games this week. The team heads to Laredo, Texas Thursday to face off with Texas A&M-International and will finish up Friday with a match up against St. Mary's in San Antonio.
