Matchup in Midland for Aggie Football

Goodwell, Okla.—Still on the hunt for their first LSC victory, the Panhandle State football team will have a good opportunity to add a notch to the win column this Saturday as they take on another newcomer to the Lone Start Conference, the University of Texas at Permian Basin.

The matchup will take place off-site from the Falcons' regular home stadium with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Grande Stadium in Midland. UTPB has paired with the Midland Memorial Hospital for a Pink the Basin event in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Falcons will also be looking for an inaugural win within the league this week, and own one more win on the season at 2-5, but both wins came against NAIA and Division III opponents. While Coach Gaskamp goes in with confidence, he also knows that both teams will be playing hard to earn an LSC win.

Gaskamp feels that his Aggies will match up well against this Falcons team, but says they will need to perform in all facets in order to come out successful; he shared a few focal points, "First and foremost, we have got to play better on special teams. We also need to eliminate mistakes inside the red zone and score when we are within the 20-yard line range. Defensively, we can't give up any big plays on 50/50 balls downfield."

Aggie fans will be able to listen in via live radio feed and follow live stats online; links for both are posted on the football schedule page at opsuaggies.com. Panhandle State Football will return for a home-field contest against Tarleton State on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. Pre-game tailgating and the Little Aggies Cheer camp will take place prior to the game. Information on both can be found online.
