Box Score Canyon, Texas—The Panhandle State men's basketball team took a tough loss to West Texas A&M Tuesday evening, as the Buffalos charged away with a 105-66 win over the Aggies.

At the end of the first half West Texas held a 23-point lead (60-37) with 25 of those points coming off Aggie turnovers; the Buffs added a total of 38 points off turnovers for the game, taking 20 steals on 30 Panhandle possession losses. While turnovers took their toll on the Aggies, WT was also able to win the battle inside, outscoring their opponents 54-20 in the paint. At the boards the Buffs came away with 38 rebounds for the night, with the Aggies getting back 22.

Both teams shot well from the line with Malcolm Glanville leading the game in free throws going 7-7 to help the Aggies shoot 67 percent at the line; West Texas hit 14-20 free throw attempts for a 70 percent average at the line. Panhandle put up 16 three-point attempts in the game and landed six shots for a 37.5 percent shooting average beyond the arc; Jaden Whitfield was 2-2 and Riyadh Asad went 2-3 for the Aggies in long distance shots. The Buffs hit on 11-24 three-pointers led by Jordan Evans who went 3-5 for the game.

Panhandle's leading scorers were Devonta Brooks who finished with 18 points and Jace Kerr who had 17. Brooks earned the game's only double-double totaling a game-high of ten rebounds; he also led the team in assists with three and blocked shots with two. Kerr held a team-high in steals with three. WT's Drew Evans put up a game-high of 22 points for the Buffs and teammate Carl White held the high in assists with ten as well as steals with four.

Head Coach Jerry Olson was disappointed with his team's overall effort and felt they just did not play tough enough. "We had a hard time getting open and could not handle the ball with pressure which caused us to get frustrated defensively. I thought we played selfish on offense as well. We've just go to get better mentally." Panhandle State Men's Basketball now owns a 2-2 overall record.

The Aggies will enjoy a brief break for Thanksgiving and then will compete at home on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. against Bethel College. The women's team travels to Springfield, Mo. to play in a Thanksgiving Classic tournament hosted by Drury University Friday and Saturday.
