Box Score 2 Langston, Okla.—Tuesday evening the Panhandle State volleyball team took part in a tri-match hosted by Langston University. The Aggies split the series taking a 3-1 victory over Langston, but falling 3-0 to Saint Gregory's in their second match.
Game statistics have not yet been made available, but the Aggies started off strong against the Lions in the first matchup of the evening, taking a 25-18 win in set one and a 25-22 win in set two. The Lions came back for a set three victory that went extra points with a final score of 28-26. Set four brought the Aggies their second win of the season over Langston 25-22. Panhandle claimed a 3-1 victory over the Lions earlier in the season on their home court.
Saint Gregory's left Langston with two wins under their belts as they defeated the Aggies in three hard-fought sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-19), and then proceeded to win their second match against the Lions with scores of 26-24, 25-20 and 25-20.

Mike Stephens felt his team played well overall stating, "We expended a lot of energy and effort beating Langston in our first match and that hurt us against Saint Gregory's in the second match. We had substantial leads versus SGU, but just couldn't hold on."
Panhandle Volleyball will take their home court this week for two Heartland Conference matches starting on Thursday with a 7 p.m. game against Texas A&M-International. Following, on Friday, the team will host the third-ranked team in the league with a matchup against St. Mary's, also at 7 p.m. The Aggies currently hold an overall record of 2-12 and still look for their first conference win of the season. Stats will be posted online for Tuesday night's games as soon as they are received.
