Box Score Goodwell, Okla.—In a game that got off to a slow start, the Panhandle State women's basketball team came together with a strong second-half effort to claim final victory over Central Christian College 64-51.
Trailing 27-26 at halftime, the Aggies were outshot in the first half by a ten percent margin from the field and close to twenty percent from three-point range. CCC shot at 38 percent in both categories and gained eight points off Aggie turnovers in the first twenty minutes of play.
Panhandle won the second half 38-24 and had a big third period where they outscored the Tigers 20-11. The Aggies had a great shot selection from
Addison Munsch, who went 5-5 in the last two periods and finished with a team-high of 18 points. Munsch missed only four of 12 shots from the field and went 2-2 from the line. Seniors

Denise Levine combined for 22 Aggie points, Whitaker with 12 and Levine with ten.

Shaletha Mayberry led, accounting for 11 of Panhandle's 15 bench points in the game. The Aggies pushed the ball up the floor for eight fast break points and stayed big in the paint with a total of 36 points inside. The Tigers starting five played a full 40 minutes each, with shooter Abbie Banks racking up a game-high of 19 points, hitting 10-10 at the line. Alexa Gonzales was CCC's second leading scorer landing four shots from beyond the arc and one free throw point.
Down low for the Aggies, Tiara Roberson brought in a game-high of 11 rebounds followed closely by Munsch who hauled in nine; the pair contributed to a sum of 44 team rebounds for the game. The Tigers totaled 39 rebounds in the game led by Haylee Floyd who had nine.

Charles Terry was pleased with the win stating, "It's good to finally get a win, but I'm even more proud of how we stayed together and fought hard. We still need to work on getting our offense as good as our defense has been."
With only two games remaining on the season, the Aggies are happy to host both on their home court this week. Panhandle State women's basketball will take on Texas A&M-International (2-12) for the Winter Homecoming game on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 p.m. Homecoming royalty is crowned immediately following the women's game, with the men's game tipping off after the coronation ceremony. Saturday, Feb. 25 both teams will take on St. Mary's for the season finale and a senior recognition will take place in between games; the women's game is set for 1 p.m.
