Goodwell, Okla.—In the months leading up to the start of the season, the entire team has been hard at work, stated head Coach Meghan Mulcahy. "We are a young team with a lot of talent and I'm very excited about it," she continued.

The team is returning just one senior, pitcher Lindsay Jacobs, who joins fellow returning veterans AJ Husband, Brissa Rivera, Chrislyn Dovers, Abby Gregory, Emily Worley, and Kayli Grove. Infielders Jenna Konieczka, Karah Ortiz, Jaylinn Reyes and outfielder Jewell Lee, who all had stellar performances and were named to Sooner Athletic All-Conference teams in their 2018 season will also be returning to the Aggie roster. "My returners have been working hard to step up and lead," prides Mulcahy.

The young team welcomes ten incoming freshman, including new faces Lindsey Harris, Caitley Adams, Brittany Thomas, and Ashley McKellips. Mulcahy's recruitment numbers were also strong in gaining several powerhouse transfers, Amanda Tucker, Jordan McEntee, and Rachel Diercks, who will certainly bring their experience and drive to the field. Junior transfers Haley Neal, who will step up behind the plate for the Aggies, and pitcher Kaylor Battiest, who has already been making strides on the mound, will round out the new faces of the Aggies. "Our pitching outlook is strong this year," says Mulcahy, which will undoubtedly help to propel the team forward as they head into their first series of the year against University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico, followed suit by the annual Cowtown Classic in Fort Worth, Texas. At the Classic, the team will face the first of their tough schedule this year, taking on teams like Tabor, Morningside College and Ottawa University. "We play eleven games in nine days and it will definitely be a true test of team character," expounds Mulcahy.

This year, Panhandle Softball will look to continue the impressive progression they made last season. The Lady Aggies made their first post-season appearance in a decade and boasted six All-Conference honorees. After their road stint, the Aggies will return home for a mid-week double header against Sterling College on February 13 and a series against University of Science and Arts Oklahoma on February 15-16.
