GAME NOTES:
*AGGIES AT-A GLANCE- OPSU brings a record of 7-5 overall and 0-2 in SAC play into the week. The Aggies have not played since a doubleheader loss to University of Science and Arts (Oklahoma) back on February 15.
*DEAR ABBY- Abby Gregory had a monster game to her credit in the Aggies' 17-4 win over Sterling on February 13. Gregory pounded out three home runs, going 4-for-4 from the plate. Gregory drove in nine runs and scored four times, as well.
*HAVE A DAY!- Jena Konieczka had a nice afternoon in OPSU's sweep of Sterling. She went a combined 6-for-8 (3-for-4 in each game), scored three times and drove in a pair of runs.
*WEATHER BEATEN- Panhandle softball has had a total of five games, thus far, altered by the weather. Thursday's bouts versus Southwestern Christian were rescheduled from last Tuesday.
*PERSEVERANCE- When the Aggies hosted the University of Science and Arts (Oklahoma) last Friday (Feb. 15), it marked the only two SAC games that have been able to be completed so far in 2019 - by any of the 10 schools - in the conference.
*SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN AT-A-GLANCE- The Eagles (1-1, 0-0 SAC) have played just two games thus far in 2019, splitting a February 14 set at Ecclesia College. A scheduled season-opening doubleheader versus NAIA No. 1 Oklahoma City was postponed.
*LAST TIME OUT VERSUS SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN- The Aggies split a pair of doubleheaders at Bethany, Okla., in 2018. In the first pair of games on March 9, OPSU lost 4-2 and rebounded to blank the Eagles, 16-0, in a run-rule shortened game. On March 10, after once again losing the first game of the day (9-1), the Aggies exploded for a 15-0 game called after six innings.
