GOODWELL, Okla. - In a pair of hard-fought home games, the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Basketball teams both lost close games to Central Christian College, in Sooner Athletic Conference bouts. The Panhandle State women fell 77-71, with the men going down to defeat in a 60-55 decision.
In the women's early game, the Aggies and Tigers battled through six ties and 12 lead changes over the course of the afternoon. No more than eight points ever separated the two teams at any point in the game.
Panhandle was freshman
Shay Audrain had another monster game. Audrain scored a game-leading – and OPSU career-high - 23 points. She was 7-of-16 overall shooting, including four treys, to go along with five rebounds.
Junior forward
Cassia McCaskill was the Aggies' only other players to reach double figures, with 13 points. McCaskill hauled in eight rebounds, all on the defensive end.
Senior
Nadia Hayes was the Chairwoman of the Boards, pulling down nine rebounds. Hayes had eight points and a blocked shot to her credit.
Junior guard
Naomi Rodriguez booked seven points and five rebounds. Senior

Laura Moya Demures each contributed six points.
Panhandle State held an edge in rebounds over CCC, 50-41. However, OPSU was victimized by its own turnovers, 19 in all.
Similar to their female counterparts, the Aggie and Tiger men also played a tight contest, but CCC held the upper hand the majority of the time. Neither team could produce double-digit leads, as both clubs held nine-point margins as its largest cushion.
Junior
DK Sumo IV was the only OPSU player to tally in double digits. Sumo has 14 points, on his 6-for-16 shooting effort. He also had three assists and five rebounds.
Thomas Ellis had a team-leading nine rebounds, to go along with six points. Sophomore
Quentin Fankhouser narrowly missed another double-double game, scoring nine and grabbing eight boards.
Daniel Holyfield had another nice all-around game. Holyfield converted 3-of-4 field goals and sank both free throws. For good measure, Holyfield had six rebounds (five on defense), a team-best four assists and two blocked shots.
Freshman
Jalen Williams and
Auston Chatman each booked seven points.
