Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Softball Team took to the road this weekend to take on NCAA Division II opponent Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. The Aggies split the four game series with the Grizzlies, winning the first two games on Saturday, 11-10 and 11-1, and then dropping the final two on Sunday, 8-7 and 3-0.
 
Saturday, the Aggie offense was on an absolute tear scoring a total of 22 runs. They were led at the plate by junior Kinzie Jones who went 5-for-9 with three doubles, three runs batted in, and three runs. Senior Abby Gregory got in on the action as well, going 5-for-8 with three RBI, four runs, a triple and a stolen base. Jena Konieczka, Kayli Grove, and Caitley Adams were a huge part of the game one shootout as each tallied two hits apiece.
 
Senior right-handed pitcher Kaylor Battiest (2-3) made her presence known in the second game on Saturday. She turned in a complete game with six innings of work, one earned run, and only surrendering four hits, striking out six.
 
Sunday's game had a slightly different tune. Although the Aggie bats were alive and well in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, the Grizzlies were able to edge out the victory by one run. Senior catcher Haley Neal had herself a day going 3-for-6 with a stolen base. Grove was a big contributor in the first game with three RBI and two runs scored. Camryn Pryor got in the mix as well with two hits and two RBI. Panhandle would ultimately fall, 8-7.
 
The series finale proved to be a pitching duel. Battiest again went the distance, throwing six innings while giving up three earned runs and five hits. She also fanned a season-high 11 batters. However, offense was at a premium as Panhandle State could only muster three hits and ended up falling, 3-0.
 
After this series split the Aggies record moves to 5-9 on the early season. They will get a nine day rest to prepare for their first Sooner Athletic Conference matchup of the year as they have a date with #3 Oklahoma City University on Tuesday, February 25^th in Goodwell.
