Box Score 2 CHICKASHA, Okla. – Oklahoma Panhandle State University softball lost both ends of its Saturday Sooner Athletic Conference doubleheader to NAIA No. 2-ranked University of Science and Arts-Oklahoma. The Aggies lost by scores of 9-0 and 8-0, with both contests shortened to five innings by the run rule
In game one, Panhandle was no-hit by the Drovers' Emily Cerny. OPSU outfielder
Abby Gregory reached on a throwing error by USAO's thirdbaseman to keep Cerny from a perfect game.
In game two, Panhandle State rustled up a pair of hits in the shutout loss to the nationally-ranked Drovers.
Jena Konieczka (1-2) led off the game with a single for OPSU's first hit of the day.
In the top of the fifth, catcher
Haley Neal led off the inning with a single. The Aggies only other baserunner of the day –
Caitley Adams – reached on an E5 later in that inning, before OPSU was held at bay in its effort for runs.
Panhandle was swept in its four-game set versus the Drovers. Including the Aggies' loss and a suspended game to NAIA No. 3-rated Oklahoma City earlier in the week, the Aggies have face six-consecutive ranked opponents.
