GOODWELL, OKLA. – The Panhandle State Aggie Women's Basketball Team hosted Southwestern Christian University Eagles today at Anchor D. Arena. The home crowd filled the seats, and this game did not disappoint. In the first 3 quarters of play, the Aggies remained a close threat. However, in the fourth quarter, the Aggies would lose steam and fall to the Eagles 65-81.
The Aggies had some impressive numbers on the day. Junior transfer
Jamiya Eaddy had another standout performance, leading the Aggies with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist. Freshman
Briana Marquez came off the bench and contributed hugely with 12 points of her own, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 assists. Senior
Cassia McCaskill put up 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist. And Senior
Tateum Jones was aggressively scanning the floor, producing 7 assists. The Aggie defense was strong this evening, with 8 steals on the evening and forcing 16 turnovers, converting to 18 points for the Aggies.
Overall, the Aggies looked solid tonight. Shooting nearly 80% from the free-throw line and almost 40% from the field, the Aggies certainly have the foundation to build upon for future games.
Up next, the Aggies will head to Joplin, Missouri, to compete in an exhibition game versus Missouri Southern on November 27th at 1:30 pm. Following the exhibition game, the Aggies will continue to hit the road for the Sooner Athletic Conference play. Aggies at Central Christian College (Kan) on December 2nd at 6 pm and Langston University on December 4th at 2 pm.
