Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Aggie's Falter in Kansas

MCPHERSON, Ks. - The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Men's Basketball competed in their first of two road games of the weekend. The Aggies fell to the Central Christian Tigers with the final score of 91-71. Despite the loss, the Aggies would have three players reach double-digits, Rayquan Elliot, Justin Pile, and Jalen Thomas. The three combined for 40 points and 18 rebounds in the loss.

In the first half of the game against the Tigers, the Aggies struggled to find a rhythm on offense. Coming out of the half shooting only forty percent from the field, twenty-five percent from the free-throw line, and twenty-seven percent from three. The Tigers would take advantage of the offensive woes for the Aggies and create a lead that they would never relinquish in the game.
The Aggies looked to bounce back in the second half by focusing on their strength, scoring in the paint. However, the deep range threat from the Tigers proved too much for the Aggies to overcome. As a result, the Tigers and The Aggies would get into the bonus and foul trouble early in the second half. However, the Tigers would capitalize far more often at the free-throw line than the Aggies. Thus, allowing the Tigers ability to maintain the lead throughout the game.

On the match Head Coach Mark Laird would say "we had a rough night at the free throw line. I can't really explain it. But between that and our poor rebound performance, it was just too much to overcome. Regardless, we have to move on to prepare for another tough SAC road game on saturday.:
The Aggies continue their road trip against the Langston University Lions Saturday, December 4th at 3:45 PM.
