Box Score 4 GOODWELL, Okla. – Oklahoma Panhandle State University's softball team lost three-of-four games in a Sooner Athletic Conference series versus Southwestern Assembles of God University. The Aggies split Thursday's games, losing the opener, 6-5 and winning the nightcap, 7-6, before falling twice on Friday by scores of 4-2 and 6-2.
In the first game of the series on Thursday, SAGU took the lead in the top of the seventh and then held off the Aggies in the bottom of the frame. Down 6-4,
Camryn Pryor led off with a single and gave way to pinch-runner
Jordyn Sanford.
Kaitlyn Lord then ripped a double that plated Sanford and put a potential tying run in scoring position.
A sacrifice bunt moved the runner up to third base. However, the Aggies would strand the runner there for the 6-5 final.
OPSU banged out 11 hits in the loss, led by
Kayli Grove's 3-for-4 game, including a double. Pryor was also 3-for-4 with a double.
Caitley Adams (1-1) had a triple.
Sarah Conley took the loss, striking out six Lady Lions.
In the second game on Thursday, it was OPSU that hung on for a 7-6 victory!
Alyssa Ramirez went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Brissa Rivera was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Pryor also had a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3.
Kenley Yocum went 6.0 innings and struck out seven, earning the win.
Jordyn Sanford got the save.
In Friday's game one loss, only Lord had multiple hits, going 2-for-4 with a double and triple. Lord had both of the Aggies' RBI, as well.
In the series finale, Rivera and
Jaylinn Reyes each had 2-for-4 games with the bat.
Kinzie Jones's two-run home run accounted for both OPSU runs in the bottom of the sixth.
