Doubleheader for Aggies lead to a split series

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MCPHERSON, KS – Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Aggies faced Central Christian College in a double header.  The Aggies versus Tigers game one began at noon and the second game to follow. 
 
In game one, the Aggies took the lead at the top of the first inning, and never looked back. In the first inning Jaylinn Reyes singled to get on base. Kayli Grove, on a 3-2 count, connects and sends it over the fence. Grove brings in herself and Reyes, putting the Aggies up 2-0.
 
In the third inning, Reyes steps up to the plate and once again gets on base. Reyes and Grove on base, and Camryn Pryor at bat. Pryor hits a line drive to the tigers left field, bringing in Reyes and advances Grove to third base. Aggies up 3-0. Kinzie Jones is up to bat, and hits a hard ground ball towards centerfield, which brings in Grove to score for the Aggies and, advances Pryor to third base. Aggies up 4-0. Next at bat, is Brissa Rivera, who hits a single, but due to a Tiger misfielding Rivera advances to third, Pryor and Jones score. Aggies up 6-0. Caitley Adams takes the plate for the Aggies and, she singles on a hard ground ball to center field and, brings in Rivera. Aggies up 7-0. The Tigers were able to regroup and find the third out, however, the damage had been done. Aggies got 5 runs in at the top of the third.
 
In the top of the 7th the Aggies' bat were on fire. Sarah Conley pitched and shut out Central Christian. Conley had zero runs on one hit over the five-inning game. She struck out seven and walked one tiger. Aggies were able to capitalize on game one, winning 8-0.
 
Game two was a heartbreaker for the Aggies. The Aggies and Tigers were tied at one run a piece from the top of the second. It was a battle the remainder of the game; Central Christian able to get the one run in the first inning. And, the Aggies able to tie it up at the beginning of the second, when Jones triples on a fly ball to the Tiger left field. Rivera next up to bat, hits a dinger towards center field and brings in Jones.
 
Score still tied, 1-1, the Aggies take the field at the bottom of the fifth inning. Tigers able to get on base. The next batter, making strong contact to the outfield, led to an Aggie fielder's error and, able to score two runs. The momentum shifted in favor for the Tigers.  The aggressive Tiger offense was difficult to stop, but, the Aggies pulled together as a team and ended the run. Tigers were able to upset the Aggies 9-1, to split the double-header today. 
 
Aggies will be back in action for the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, that is held on May 6 to May 8th, location to be determined.
