Aggie Softball Receive Five All-SAC Honors

GOODWELL, Okla- Oklahoma Panhandle State University Softball earned the opportunity to compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament (SAC) for the 3rd year in a row. The team's hard work and commitment has not gone unnoticed by SAC coaches, as the Aggies have earned post-season honors from the SAC tournament. All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors awards were given to Kayli Grove (First Team), Kinzie Jones, Camryn Pryor, Brissa Rivera (Second Team) and, Chrislyn Dovers (Gold Glove).  

"It was nice to see our seniors Brissa, Cam, and Chrislyn recognized for the work they put in" stated head coach Marc Benjamin, "and all they had to go through with covid and head coach changes.  Kayli and Kinzie will no doubt be great players next year and I am excited to build a team around the two of them."
 
Senior, Kayli Grove, Norman, Oklahoma was selected on the first team All-SAC tournament honors. She provided the Aggies with a batting average of .358, 3 homeruns, 22 RBI's and a slugging percentage of .569 on the season. Grove's on base percentage was an impressive .406 with 8 out of 9 stolen bases.
 
Senior, Kinzie Jones, from Norman, Oklahoma was honored on the second team All-SAC for the tournament. Jones provided the Aggies with 110 at bats and a batting average of .310 on the season. Also, the Aggie had 4 home runs, 19 RBI's and a .536 slugging percentage this season. Jones' on base percentage was .347 and was 8 for 8 stolen bases. 
 
Senior, Camryn Pryor from Salem, Missouri received the honor of second team All-SAC tournament. She led the Aggies in batting average at .370, with 119 at bats. Pryor contributed 20 RBI's and a .504 slugging percentage. 
 
Fifth year senior, Brissa Rivera, Brownsville, Texas was honored with second team All-SAC. She saw 101 at bats and batted an average of .317. Rivera had 14 RBIs on the year and a slugging percentage of .347.
 
Fifth year senior, Chrislyn Dovers, from Haslet, Texas was awarded the Gold Glove SAC award. Dovers not only took the role of leader on her team, but she also led her student-athletes as the president of the Student-Athlete Advisor Committee (SAAC) this year. Dovers' fielding was outstanding for the Aggies with a fielding percentage of .978, 41 put outs and 1 double play. 

The Aggies bounced back after a canceled season due to COVID-19 in 2020, a new Head Coach coming on board, and the restrictions of a unique season in the midst of the pandemic. We would like to thank all of our student-athletes and coaching staff for making this season rewarding and enjoyable.
