GOODWELL, Okla- It was Senior day for the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggie Baseball team as they took on the Texas Wesleyan Rams. The weather could not have been more perfect for a single battle on the diamond in the Panhandle. The Aggies were the first to get on the scoreboard and remained in the lead until the top of the 8
th inning. The Aggies and Rams fought until the bitter end, where the Rams were able to clinch the game with the score 8-7.
In the bottom of the 2
nd inning, Aggies were able to get two runners across the plate. Jonathon Applebury reached base due to the Rams misplay grounder.
Chris Schraer hit a sacrifice bunt and putout but, provided Applebury to advance to second.
Meny Terrazas, was able to reach base due to the Rams misplay, and Applebury advanced to third. Due to Rams misfielding, Applebury was able to score on a stolen base and Terrazas was able to steal second and third.
Bryson Hackley was up for the Aggies with a dinger deep towards center field, allowing Terrazas to score. The Rams were able to gather enough defensive plays to stop the Aggies.
In the bottom of the 5
th inning, the Aggies were able to score, putting the Aggies up 3-2. Top of the 6
th, the Rams came back strong and scored tying up the game 3-3. The bottom of the 7
th, the Aggies were able to do it again with 2 players across home plate, score Aggies on top 5-3. The top of the 8
th inning was tough for the Aggies to settle the Rams down, scoring 5 runs, putting the Rams on top 8-5. It was not until the bottom of the 9
th inning that the Aggies came back to rally.
Ethan Hunt singled to get on base followed by a
Lane Field double to deep right advancing Hunt to third. Next at bat was Jonathon Applebury, with a single to center, and bringing Hunt home. Rams changed the pitcher on the Aggies, in hopes to slow them down. Aggies did not flinch; bases loaded and the Aggies were in a great position to score again. Rams decided to walk
Tucker Bond and, Aggies were now able to bring
Lane Field home and score Aggies 7-8. Rams were able to stop the Aggies in their tracks, score 7-8.
Highlights from our Aggies:
Ethan Hunt hit 0.400.
Lane Field hit 0.250 and 1 RBI. Jonathon Applybury hit 0.400 and 2 RBIs.
After the game, the Aggies had an amazing Senior Day Ceremony. They celebrated

We will be able to watch our Aggies in action; as they punched their ticket into the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Championship Tournament. The tournament will take place in Chickasha, Okla. on May 7
th.
